Empirical formula and molecular equation questions
« on: June 09, 2019, 03:49:07 AM »
When an organic compound X 124 mg, which consists of only carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms was completely combusted, 176 mg of CO2 and 108 mg of H2O were formed.

(1) What is the empirical formula of the compound X?
(2) A vapor density of the organic compound at the same temperature under the same pressure is approximately twice that of oxygen. What is the molecular equation of the coumpound X?

for question (1) i got CH3O, but i don't know how to solve (2)
