I checked a German/English science dictionary.  It translates "Benzol" as benzene and "Benzin" as gasoline or petrol.  This is pretty much what my other dictionary said.  It is not important for now, but if I make related products, I may try hexanes and see how effective this choice is for recrystallization.  Thanks again to all.
