Could someone suggest a mechanism by which this reaction might occur?

All I've got to go on is this sentence; "Trapping of this enol with 3O2 produces a vicinal hydroperoxide aldehyde".  But the problem is I've got absolutely no idea how this actually happens so if someone could suggest a mechanism that would be great. The reactant and product are in the attached image file.
