ionic copper complexes?
(1/1)
kumarentran:
u see i reacted 2 mols of 4-chlorobenzoic acid to 1 mol of Copper nitrate after reacting the benzoic acid with Na2CO3
so i assume that according to the theory, a dimer complex with 2 Copper and 4 (4-chlorobenzoate) ligands should form.
the ligands are coordinately bonded to the Copper by the resonance of the COO group.
i get a milky blue powder.
what colour u assume it to be?
if the blue color occurs, shouldnt it mean that the copper is in ionic form?
