TBE 10x buffer
« on: August 27, 2019, 10:37:59 AM »
I need help remembering how to convert molarity. Back in undergrad I used be able to do this with my eyes closed but it's been 10 years since I've had to attempt to make any kind of stock solution. I've got boric acid 61.83 g/mole, Tris base 121.1 g/mole and 0.5 M Na2EDTA. And I need to make 100 ml of 10x buffer using the following formula: 890 mM Tris, 890 mM boric acid, and 20 mM EDTA (pH 8.0). Thanks for your *delete me*

Do you know what mM means? If yes then convert this to concentration. c = m/V and m = n *M.
You want to make 100 ml then you need only 1/10 of the mass. For the EDTA its only dilution from 0,50 M  = 500 mM to 20 mM.
