Identification of reaction products

2mL NH4NO3
1mL NaOH
both aqueous
the mixture is heated in a test tube in a beaker if hot water. what happens after it is mixed and heated? what color? any solids? anything else? what can be observed?

also what color are the starting reactants ?

i didn’t have time to finish this lab so i no longer have access to these materials

Both starting materials are colourless. This you can check yourself also on net.
Now  sodium hydroxide is a strong base and ammonium ions are acidic in nature.So it
is acid- base reaction . As solution is strongly heated ,it results in escape of one of the product as gas (NH3). As you know in acid base reaction of this type water and salts are formed. I am sure now you can work out the complete reaction.
