H2O2 concentration for decomposition
« on: September 13, 2019, 11:43:57 AM »
I tried reacting 3% H2O2 With KI, the reaction wasn't that fun at all, the liquid barely went up a little, I think that i need a higher concentration of h2o2 since my KI is 99% pure.
The problem is that i can only buy 30% h2o2 online, is that too high for this reaction? or it would be good enough?

You need 6-10 % (not more) hydrogen peroxide. Dilute 33 % hydrogen peroxide with water in ratio 1:4  (4 volumes of water)

Note - yeasts instead of potassium iodide are used (less toxic to the  environment)
