Coordination Chemisty Reaction
« on: October 04, 2019, 06:28:39 AM »
Hello, I am trying to synthesize this so that I can know how to draw the structure of the compounds. I am confused on the H2O in the reaction and the H2O added after the reaction. Thank you.

CuSO4 * H2O + C2H5NO2 + NaOH ---> Okay, so I got cu(NH2CH2COO)2 + Na2SO4 so far

What is C2H5NO2? It looks like nitroethane, but from the Cu complex you write, it would seem to be glycine. If so, better write it as H2NCH2CO2H to start with.

More NaOH on the left side, water only on the right side
See Wikipedia: Copper glycinate
