When you're writing a chemical reaction how would you indicate that a chemical has dissolved in a solvent other than water?

For example, when a solvent is water and the chemical has dissolved in it you would indicate "(aq)" subscripted at the end of a chemical formula. Would you still use "(aq)" if the solvent is something other than water? I tried searching the internet for the answer but I keep getting pages on solubility. I'm new so if this question belongs elsewhere please let me know.

No. It would be unnecessary...

I don't recall seeing something that is equivalent to (aq).  However if I were writing and I wanted to emphasize that something was dissolved, I would say that it was a homogeneous solution.  If I wanted to specify that it was not dissolved, I might say that the material was suspended in the solvent.

For liquid ammonia solution I met:
2M(s)+2NH3(l)→H2(g)+2M+(am)+2NH2(am)

Like I already said, it would be totally unnecessary. Usually it is known in which physical condition the solvent is.
If you want to highlight the solvent, just write it under the reaction arrow.
