Can someone double check everything here?
« on: November 04, 2019, 12:37:14 AM »
Here is the question: https://imgur.com/4VtnpWf

Basically asked to convert 10.0 mmol of p-nitroaniline and convert 10.0 mmol of 2-napthol into grams using the m.w of each of them but also being asked to calculate the theoretical yield of Para Red.

Here is the overall reaction if your confused along with the answer under it!

For the first page on the left, I am using the microscale so gona use 2 mmol instead of 10.0 mmol, and since the reaction looks like its 1:1 therefore 2 mmol can be multiplied by m.w of para red to give us the theoretical yield, is this correct guys?

I don't get whats happening on the bottom answer for the right page? I think this looks like a diazonium chloride salt but i don't know where that came from? Is that just a random diazo component and coupling component as an example or something?

Thanks all!
