Wikiversity: Chemistry [Chemicalforums.com]
« on: August 18, 2006, 11:28:47 PM »
How about this project...built just a couple days ago, it's WikiPedia but more instructional, less trivia and information:

http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wikiversity:Main_Page

There's no chemistry page yet, because no one's volunteered.  I for one, won't be volunteering, because I'm a selfish guy and would want something in return.  I don't mind helping out around this forum, but I'm not making a volunteer commitment of this scale.

Someone who already has, is Mitch Borek, with ChemBuddy....looks like there's gonna be MORE competition, Borek...

Everybody give your thoughts :)

Borek owns ChemBuddy not I.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

we could do a chemical wiki here. Any takers?

Are you suggesting that you want to install wikimedia to host chemistry content on Chemicalforums.com server?

How about the "chemical dictionary' page?

http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?page=chemistrydictionary

I was thinking of either scrapping it or extend it using the wikiversity..

Not a bad idea...I'm not sure how you'd do it, but that would be cool!
