Comparison of the stabilities of chloride and sulfate complexes with y, ho, zr, hf : I wish to understand how the stabilities of these complexes determine the y/ho or zr/hf ratio of a rock, which is reacting with a chloride or sulfate rich fluid.

y, zr and hf have d0 orbital in charged state, but ho has f10, as far as my knowledge goes. does this have an effect on the stabilities of the complexess
