Do you ever use a molecule stencil?
« on: January 26, 2020, 10:13:28 PM »
So I've seen a few different chemistry stencils online and am debating on getting one. Do you ever use one for homework? Is it helpful?

1) This one on Amazon looks the coolest by far and has extra constants and unit conversions but doesn't have many reviews.
https://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Chemist-Chemistry-Conversion-Reference/dp/B07XH2WRVQ

2) This one has the most reviews but looks kinda bulky and flimsy. It does have a ton of shapes but would I look dumb using it?

3) This one looks popular too but also kinda bulky. https://www.amazon.com/Easyshapes-Organic-Chemistry-Drafting-Template/dp/B00JH8QOHE/

Does anyone have any of these? Any suggestions on which one to get?

IMO, you’re better off saving your money and practicing your freehand drawing skills. I can’t imagine you would be allowed something like that in an exam. In saying that, if you genuinely think it would help you learn to draw structures independently, then by all means invest in one.

I use one, I bought it on amazon, it is completely clear so my professor lets me use it on exams; in fact he said he appreciates it because it is so clear and the he showed me his 3.

I like that my study guides are clean and uniform, it also makes it easy to interpret and share.
