Topic: Best way to caculate grams needed from molar ratio for a buffer solution?  (Read 957 times)

I have used the henderson hasselbalch to calculate that for a buffer containing NaH2PO4 2H2O and Na2HPO4 with a pH of 7 I need a ratio of 1 to 0.72 . But I want to calculate how many grams needed for a solution of 0.1M. How do I proceed to calculate grams?

Grams of what?

More or less it is always volume -> number of moles -> mass.

I mean how to calculate how many grams needed of each NaH2PO4 2H2O and Na2HPO4 ?

Divide 0.1 mol in ratio 1:0.72 and then count the weight of the buffer components. You will get the masses needed to make 1 liter of solution.
