Can an Alkene undergo Fluorination?
« on: April 11, 2020, 01:01:48 PM »
I was wondering if an alkene can undergo halogantion by F2? Even if Fluorine orbitals are much not stable than Cl2 and Br2 when they undergo halogenation
I'm asking this because I know Cl and Br can form an extended octate.

Fluorine is the activest halogen. It will destroy the  alkene. Result will be HF and CF4.
