Chemical Equation of Oil Spills
« on: April 19, 2020, 04:41:40 PM »
I need to write a chemical equation of an oil spill or anything related to it, like chemical clean ups. it doesn't matter what it is as long as it is an oil spill. I tried researching it but nothing comes up.

If you think about different fuel oils, they don't have a specific chemical formula. Start your search from Wikipedia - fuel oil.

If you make an idea about what kind of compounds make up crude oil, you can relate it with
- The difficulty of bacteria to digest oil
- The lack of miscibility with water
- The action of a dispersant

There is no such thing as "chemical equation of oil spill". Oil spill is a combination of many processes, some of which are purely chemical and may be described by a reaction equation (or several), some of which are closer to physics.

Basically what you asked is "I need equation for a number". Many numbers, many equations, no way to give a reasonable answer.
