Dangerous
« on: April 23, 2020, 03:49:26 AM »
Hello,

I mixed these today:

H3PO4
NaOH
Tetrahydrofuran  CH₂)₄O
Cyklohexanon   C6H10O
2-Butanon   C4H8O

It started to generate smoke. Just wondering if this gas might have been dangerous to breath in? theories? experiences?

Thanks
Stan

Don't mix things you have no idea about.

Without even thinking about the organics - fumes can be definitely caustic. Irritating at best, damaging at worst.

What are you talking about? Where did you get these chemicals? Are you trying to clean up a PVC cement spill with acid / base cleaners?  Are you testing those of us who write responses here on CF?  What's the matter with you?
