A simple question, probably, but I couldn't find anything that specifically states that.
While writing a full description of salt dissolving in water, I got stuck thinking about this. I know that each Ion draws and gets drawn to the atoms in water with the opposite charge (Na to O, and Cl to H), but while that happens, and the water molecules surround the Ions, do the Hydrogen Bonds between the water molecules break?
Oh, and same question about Glucose (C6H12O6), the glucose molecules and water molecules get drawn to each other with their own Hydrogen bonds, but do the bonds between the water molecules themselves break?
Thank you in advance ^^.
