It doesnt work in this way. If it is not for you, why your friend dont asked instead. Die longest chain has 5 Carbons.How is this called.

That right. I would take the one wirh chlorine. Rhe Ring wirh one C is Benzyl.

But IUPAC does not use benzyl in the name of this compound.

([locants and substituents]butyl)benzene

But why is 2- Chloro- 3- (Phenyl-methyl)- pentane ( longer chain )wrong. Does Benzene have a higher priority that it's called as butyl benzene.
