balancing chemical equation

When solid mercury (II) nitrate is heated, it decomposes to form solid mercury(II) oxide, gaseous nitrogen dioxide, and oxygen.

i believe its Hg(NO3)2 (s) ----> HgO (s)+ NO2 (g) + O2 (g)

correct me if i'm wrong.... because i can't get a balanced equation

Looks reasonably and can be balanced. Sum of all stoichiometric coefficients - 9 :)

Looks ok.

These seem tricky but they are very simple.

On the left you have 6 O, on the right 5.

So just take 3/2 of O2 and that should give you 6 O on the right.  Balanced!  ;D
