CHCl3 stability
« on: July 25, 2020, 09:32:34 AM »
How stable is CHCl3 after refluxing for 4 hours. I haven't worked with it under these conditions before so was curious to know how much faster (if at all) it decomposes at high heat. It won't be under inert atmosphere. How many times can it be recycled/reused after rotary evaporating off from the RBF after reflux (assuming I add 1% EtOH every now and again)?

Thanks!
