What's the difference between 1N NaOH and 6N NaOH?
« on: September 26, 2006, 08:19:15 AM »
We were making an experiment about acids and bases and the procedures were adding 5 drops of 1N NaOH solution to FeCl3  and also adding 6N of NaOH to FeCl3...

Now we were ask to write an equation for both 6N and 1N NaOH to add FeCl3:
FeCl3 + NaOH ---> Fe(OH)3 + NaCl
What confuses me is how 1N and 6N differ?
any help would be appreciated...

Look up Normality in your textbook

Look up Normality in your textbook

I think she asks not about the difference in terms of concentrations, but about the difference in the experiment outcome.

Samantha: have you observed any difference between experiments?
