This is the heading question of the article. Idk, but after today's article about "UK into space" on the same website I have started to read more and found this piece of info. So, taking into consideration  this article and the one about new UK space association, I have a question -  Do you also think that "UK won't be able into space"?
They do have strong chemical industry, but imho not space one. Am I wrong?

I have generally an unlimited confidence in UK engineering.

UK has a satellite industry: SSTL and others. But this isn't the same as designing and operating a launcher.

UK has also an aeroplane industry, whose culture can be a drawback to build launchers.

A chemical industry isn't necessary for launchers. You need liquid oxygen and a refinery. Or you can import the propellants.
