Chemical reactions to obtain fire

(1/1)

belzebubukas:
Hi everyone! I'm working on an airsoft grenade - I got it all figured out (including the explosive load, which this post is NOT about - that would be against he rules! ;) ), except for the primer - something to light the fuse.

I've tried two things:
1) setting up a match against the side of a match box and having a spring drive it. Extremely unreliable.
2) mixing glycerol and potassium permanganate - that was not very reliable either, and also had inconsistent (sometimes quite long) delay until it sets on fire.

So my question is: do you have any ideas for such a primer? All of mine have failed...

Also the pre steps are against the rule. No receipes for explosives and pre starters.
