E & Z Alkenes

hi there,

i  just have one quick question, is there a easy way to tell which is a E or Z alkene, if anyone knows, that would really help me out.

Little pneumonic device to help you remember:

Z isomers: groups are on Zee Zame Zide of the alkene. (pronounced like German)

E isomers are when it's not Z.
