Kinetic chemistry
« on: November 25, 2020, 10:09:27 AM »
Hello guys, I am a chemistry student and I am having a bit of trouble with my lab experience's essay:
we were told to find the order of reaction and the kinetic constant for this following reaction:
6 I- + BrO3- + 6 H+ = 3 I2 + Br- + 3 H2O, knowing that the law for this reaction is
v = k [I-]x[BrO3-]y[H+]z
we decided to check on when the BrO3- would have disappeared and to find that out we used a clock reaction:
I2 + 2 S2O32- = 2 I- + S4O62- and we used starch weld to check when the S2O32- ended so the iodium made a complex and turned the solution blue. I am writing this because I am having a bit of troubles with the elaboration of the requests they did to us since we never did exercises like that, I'm attaching a file filled with the dates I took, I thank you in advance for the help. <3
