Factors affecting the solubility (lipophilicty) of drugs
« on: February 08, 2021, 06:48:47 AM »
Hi,

I am currently completing a chemistry database investigation and would appreciate input into the variables I could measure. I am looking to use lipophilicity (logP) as a measurement to quantify the solubility in drugs. Lipophilicity would be my dependent variable and my independent variables would be the polar surface area. Preferably, I would need another independent variable and I am struggling to see what else could affect lipophilicity. Could I use melting points or molecular mass?

Any other suggestions are helpful.

Btw, I have graphed my polar surface area and lipophilicity data and it shows a negative linear relationship.
