Volatilisation of As Sb Se & Sn
« on: February 14, 2021, 10:23:47 AM »
Hi guys

I believe you can separate Arsenic, Antimony, Selenium & Tin from Copper Sulfide and Lead Sulfide samples by treatment with HBr & Br.

I have been scouring the internet trying to look this up but I can't find anything. Can anybody shine any light on this for me?

I would love to read up on this so if anybody can point me in the right direction and recommend some reading material that would be great.

I am particularly interested in the temperatures at which each individual element comes off.

Thanks

You present a very strange and exotic problem.
In this Forum, you have to try to solve it yourself to possibly get help for the probably needed correction.
Working with very aggressive bromine at a temperature of 200-300°C in perfectly anhydrous conditions is extremely difficult and very expensive.
It is worth starting with reading the forum rules, so as not to waste time.

Thanks for that!

Just after a bit of help from more intelligent, knowledgable people than myself. I apologise for trying to grow as an individual.

Cheers
