Rate of Reaction for Luminol
« on: March 17, 2021, 06:39:24 AM »
Hello! I am doing a chemistry IA aiming to find the rate of reaction of luminol when oxidized with sodium hydroxide (NaOH), sodium hypochlorite (NaClO). I think the rate = k[luminol][H2O2]^2. Yet, I can't find any published work on the rate of reaction of luminol to compare my values to literature values.

Does anybody know the overall rate equation for this reaction? Or could you please tell me where to find further information/the correct rate?

Thank you,

Is your oxidant sodium hypochlorite or is it hydrogen peroxide?  What books or papers have you consulted so far?
