Chemical equation for NdFeO3
« on: June 17, 2021, 04:01:36 AM »
Hi Guys,

in the lab I had to do a ceramic for my inorganic chemistry lab. I had to create NdFeO3 out of Fe(NO3)3H2O and Nd(NO3)3H2O.

Now I have to formulate the chemical equation and just seem to be stuck, because I am just not sure what happens to the nitrate. Could someone help me please? :) My grade depends on it.

Thanks so much!!

I am afraid you are missing much more than just "what happened to nitrate", I doubt it is a simple metathesis.

What was the procedure?

Nitrate leaves as the N2O5, which decomposes at temp. above 300 C to NO and O2.
