Resolution Experiment

Any help would really be appreacited....

I conducted a resolution of a racemic mixture of the R and S enantiomers of Naproxen. Once the R and S enantiomers were separated into 2 beakers at the end of the experiment, I weighed the samples and added 10mL of acetone to each and placed them in a polarimeter to find the optical rotation for each. In my report, I calculated the specific rotation for the R Naproxen sample and the S Naproxen sample. Now, I am stuck because I am unsure how to calculated the enantiomeric excess.

How you calculated the enantiomeric excess of what? If your starting material - what is the definition of a racemic mixture? If your separated fractions, how did you calculate the rotation for these?
