2 questions on esterification and synthesis of ether

Hello chemists,

I have 2 questions:
1: can an ester of the reaction of 1,2-propanediol and 1,3-propanediol with acetic acid and sulfuric acid be formed? I tried it, but I didn't smell of esters.

2: When 1,4 dioxane is formed by dehydration of ethylene glycol by H2SO4 or dimethyl dioxane is formed from propylene glycol, which ether is formed by dehydration of 1,3-propanediol?

rolnor:
1. I think you get diacetylester this way but its likely not smelling of fruit.

2. You will get polymer I think
