Does ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid -

Sodium calcium edetate chelate the aluminum atoms out of very small ceramic fibers - aluminum silicate with it being about 20-30% aluminum content

Honest question, looking at the break down in neutral pH since acid/base erode the ceramic. No idea how materials like this work in terms of the chemical bonding of the aluminum and silica. Does melting together at very high temps cause the aluminum to become trapped in the silica but still reactive to its normal reactives? Or is it now chemically changed in terms of its properties? What kind of bond does it have with the aluminun-silica? Thank you.
