My lab is basically collecting river water samples, adding reagents, and titrating to find DO content. However, I'm also applying the alum flocculation modification so the water sample is clearer. But when I siphon the supernate, the water samples would be out in the open (the lid would have to be opened) so wouldn't that exposure allow oxygen from the air to dissolve in the water?
I'm wondering whether that exposure would heavily affect my results or are they negligible because oxygen doesn't readily dissolve in water???
HELLPP any tips?
THANK YOU SO MUCH
