Carboy dripping

Can anyone tell me how they typically resolve problems with carboy spigots dripping?  I have a brand new 50 L Nalgene carboy with a new spigot installed.  When I installed it, I made sure the spigot "popped" into place and tightened it afterward, yet it still drips.  It's only storing DI water, so I know nothing is compromising the materials.  Any suggestions?  TIA

Could be overtightened. Is it leaking out the side of the plug or through the tap?
