Quantum numbers
« on: September 27, 2021, 10:09:39 PM »
How do I find the 4 quantum numbers that describe the seven electrons in bromine’s fourth shell? I believe n =4 for all of them, but I don’t know how to find l, ml, or ms, for the rest

What are their possible values? Do you know Aufbau principle?

Yes, but I’m confused as how to do it, as I wrote down 1 for all of the L values, and he (My teacher) marked two of them incorrect. A similar situation also happened with ml.

Can you list all combinations you wrote?

Some of them will fail one of the rules, but it is hard to point you in the right direction without an example.
