Sorry if anything is not formatted right. I just joined up.
I have been trying to write a procedure on how to precipitate all of the copper out of a 5 ml water sample, with three given solutions. (NaCl(aq), NaOH(aq), KI(aq)). Then I need to calculate the chosen solution needed to precipitate all of the copper(II) out of a 5.00 mL water sample without contaminating the water supply with an additional surplus of chemicals.
I think I know how to do the second portion of the problem but I need help with the first.
Babcock_Hall:
Can you explain what you think you should do and why?

Did you heard about the solubility product ? You can use it to calculate concentration of Cu in CuCl2, Cu(OH)2 and CuI solutions.
