Hey guys, Is there a relationship betwen the carbon chain length of n-alcohols and the gibbs free energy of formation of the compound? if so, how does that work? Additionally, do functional groups also affect this?

Well what do you think? How do you define the Gibbs energy of formation?

Then why dont you look up some experimental values and plot them out? You can find a lot of thermodynamic data at the NIST webbook.

Tell us what you find.
