Photoelectric effect
« on: December 15, 2021, 02:53:38 PM »
A aluminum surface emits electron when radiated with a light of frequency 4.22×1015 Hz. Calculate the maximum kinetic energy of the ejected electron if the work function of aluminum is 4.09 eV.

With the values given, I think that the binding energy is greater than that of the Energy of the photon and so there would be no photoelectrons. Am i missing something?
