Synthesis of tripeptides by N-protection
« on: January 26, 2022, 06:20:53 AM »
Before the start of the semester my chemistry teacher has given an assignment which states "Synthesis of  tripeptides by N-protection (t-butyloxy carbonyl and phthaloyl) & C-activating groups." we're going to be studying Biomolecules this sem and I have no idea where I should look since the usual google search isn't helping and cannot seem to find this specifically in my essential reading material given by the University. As the college is currently online I can't access the library as well. Can you point me to resources specific to this reaction I can look up to complete the assignment

Which biochemistry textbook are you using?  Many biochemistry and organic chemistry textbooks cover the general subject of peptide synthesis.  There are different protecting groups, depending on the specifics.  Do you understand the purpose of groups such as the tert-butoxycarbonyl group?  Do you have an idea of what is meant by activation?
