Low Temperature Natural Gas Reforming
« on: March 03, 2022, 01:46:17 PM »
Hello all,

I am currently working on a project that has to do with the removal of carbon from methane (CH4). Within the natural gas industry, methane (which is the primary element in natural gas) is vented into the atmosphere during the purging process. Now this is not ideal as carbon has a negative effect on the environment. While many methods of methane reforming exist, all of these methods require facility levels of heat (700°C - 1,000°C) that cannot be transported. I am in need of someone with a high chemical engineering background, that has knowledge in low temperature methane reforming. A process that could be made portable and used to extract carbon from methane during the purging process.
