Can you make a deal with vendors if you buy bulk m-CPBA?

Your time is also a cost?

Hey all!!

So the diepoxidation went well on 5 g scale and am working on 1 mole (110 g) scale now.  Turned out simple (Ockahm's razor) was the way to go.  This way is nice and cheap too!

Mix terminal diene, 0.6 eq. 25% NaOH, in DCM 3M.  Cool to 10C, add peracetic acid (32% in AcOH) dropwise and let stir for 18hours ish.

Still working on exact time.  After 22 hrs you start to see appreciable side product; addition of acetate to epoxide.

Thanks for all the stimulating ideas.  Have another I am posting now about turbo Grignards!

Cheers!
If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the precipitate
