Hg - water contamination

I wonder which  mercury (Hg) species has the largest toxicity towards biotas.


I read the methylmercury (MMHg) is one of the main protagonist...

But I don't undesrtand its chemical formula....someone says CH3Hg+ (oxidation state=2) , someone says CH3Hg  (oxidation state =1)

What sources have you consulted? Even wikipedia answers the question, have you checked?
