Analyzing Drying Curves
« on: April 26, 2022, 12:47:01 PM »
Hi! Need help analyzing this drying curve! We need to identify the equilibrium and critical moisture contents, the constant rate of drying, bound water, and unbound water based on this drying rate- moisture content plot. We are having a hard time understanding it. As of now, this is what we have analyzed but we're still unsure:
A-B: initial period
B-C and D-E: constant rate;
C-D: falling rate
at C and E: critical moisture content
at F: equilibrium moisture content

At equilibrium point drying rate (change of moisture vs time) should be equal 0. There is no that point on your graph.
The sample still contains some moisture.
