Anything worth knowing about burning potassium chloride?
« on: May 06, 2022, 07:29:32 AM »
Sooo, the summer is coming along and some of my colleagues have decided to have a grill/bonfire party when the weather is good. We all agreed on bringing some interesting things to not die of boredom and i've started looking into changing the colour of the bonfire to purple with KCl. Is there anything worth knowing about it? Probably gonna buy 1kg of the substance.

I think you will not see much. If you burn the fire with charcoal or wood it will be still yellow because to much sodium in the wood. Or everybody has to wear blue cobalt glasses.
If you don't get to much KCl to your food what you grill then its no problem.

Don't you mean potassium chlorate (KOCl)? Because KCl is just a salt substitute.
