Identifying Metals and vitamins in a substance

(1/1)

Maxim:
Hello,

I need to identify 4 chemicals in different substances, 1 of which needs to be a vitamin ( I can pick between Vitamin K and Vitamin D). Following this I still need to identify 3 metals, for which I picked Magnesium, Zinc and Iron. Do you guys know any good experiments that I can reasonably do in a highschool lab to identify these 4 elements in a substance? I'd like you to link your sources as well, thanks!

Borek:
A lot depends on concentrations/amounts of these substances. In general metals are simpler, but organic substances - like vitamins - require spectroscopy (unless you know for sure the substance you have is pure and is one of just a few preselected).

Quite difficult to suggest a procedure that could work in HS lab, unless your school is unusually well equipped.
