The mineral oil is yellowish, why so?
« on: January 15, 2023, 01:24:47 PM »
A chemical store claims has mineral oil and said it's called white oil too, but why upon buying some of it as the package is opened the mineral/white oil is yellowish, did he defraud that it is low quality or even not a mineral oil?

"Mineral oil" is about as meaningless as possible - there are thousands of mixtures that can be called this way, and their actual composition/properties can be completely different. So there is no way to tell what you should really expect and what you should get.

Lubricating oils are yellow without intentional additives. So, authentic.

Plus, mineral oil is among the cheapest materials available to humans. The seller wouldn't replace it with whisky.
