How to Determine Physical/Chemical Properties of a Mixture
« on: January 24, 2023, 03:38:36 PM »
Hello!

I am trying to find a database or web site where I can input the makeup of a chemical mixture, with accurate percentages, to determine a pH and Flash Point.

I work in hazardous waste, and am also a chemistry student, and am trying to properly categorize waste when it is a combination of multiple materials.

I hope someone can help me.

Thank you,
Michelle

Calculating pH of a mixture is somewhat doable, as long as you have all the necessary data (all involved Ka values). It is just an equilibrium problem, there are specialized programs for that (like my https://www.chembuddy.com/Buffer-Maker-pH-calculator).

That is, assuming you mean water based solution, where pH makes sense.

No idea about flash points though.
