Aromaticity and Equilibrium Question?

This question says to circle the side that is present at a higher concentration. I do not understand why the right molecule is the answer. Halogens are ortho/para directors. Wouldn't the molecule be more stable if the carbocation is in the para position?

For the second image, I have no clue why the left molecule is present at a higher concentration.

Halogens are ortho/para directing. But what do they direct ortho/para? Carbocations?

There is something called "Halogen dance" you see this when halogenating aromatics with strong Lewis acids such as FeCl3. But this cinamic ester would probably polymerize if subjected to these conditions.
