Diels-Alder: Exo vs Endo and Matched vs Mismatched

(1/1)

VictorNova:
While working on this lab report thing, I came across this issue. I've been having trouble distinguishing between how to draw endo vs exo when drawing organic structures and I don't get what is being asked regarding matched and mismatched. Could anyone help explain it to me?
Here's the problem in question:

spirochete:
I am not familar with this term, but maybe mismatched refers to the 1,3 isomer, which is the disfavored constitutional isomer that might form as a minor product? The major product should have a 1,2 relationship between the methoxy group and the ester group in this case.
